Updating OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.6i Hazard to 10.6.8

Hi, the last time i posted the article about how to install Snow Leopard 10.6.6i by hazard on Samsung r519, now lets update it! I have bundled all the needed tools/kernel kexts for updating.



The files you need to download is splitted:
- Part 1
- Part 2
- Part 3
- Part 4
- Part 5
- Part 6
- Part 7
- Part 8
- Part 9
- Part 10
- Part 11
- Part 12
- Part 13
- Part 14
- Part 15
- Part 16

After you download. Open Terminal and write:
# sudo -l
# kextstat |grep -v com.apple
The shown kexts you need to backup somewhere. Open /System/Library/Extensions/ in finder, find these extensions and backup, for example to desktop. Now you will need to install "MacOSXUpdCombo10.6.7.dmg" and later "MacOSXUpd10.6.8.dmg" from archive. After installation do not reboot or close both installers. Now you will need to install a bundled kernel, you can locate it in archive/legacy_kernel-10.6.8.v2.pkg.zip unzip, and install. Now restore your backup of extensions to /Library/System/Extensions/. Make sure that SleepEnabler is here.
Now we will rebuild caches and fix permissions:
# chown -R 0:0 /Extra/Extensions/*
# chmod -R 755 /Extra/Extensions/*
# kextcache -v 3 -a i386 -a x86_64 -m /Extra/Extensions.mkext -z /Extra/Extensions
# chown -R 0:0 /System/Library/Extensions/*
# chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/*
# kextcache -v 3 -a i386 -a x86_64 -m /System/Library/Caches/com.apple.kext.caches/Startup/Extensions.mkext -z /System/Library/Extensions

Thats all, reboot, look if something goes wrong, install dvd is your friend.
